7-22-2013 Side trip to Hope and on to Seward

It was very different getting up this morning without our little Emorie, but Elizabeth is good to send pictures by text.  We can’t always get them, but when we can, they are very welcome.

We had traveled part of the Seward Highway when we went to Whittier a couple days back.  And today, along Turnagain Arms we have a great view of Mt. McKinley.

But then we got to virgin road, and again
Sharon rides with the Milepost book in her lap.  We continue to be in awe of the beautiful country.  See how close the glaciers are along the road?  They aren’t kidding when they say there are so many they are not even all named.

We made a side trip down the Hope Highway (Elizabeth’s middle name is Hope) to check it out.  It puts you on the opposite side of Turnagain Arms from where we’d been traveling before.

Love this house too in Hope.  They can exercise or sit on the roof of the greenhouse to enjoy the view!

It is so dry and they are very adamant about fire danger.

We saw our first salmon fishermen along Resurrection Creek.
