After
doing a few chores, we headed north from Seward to take a hard left to the west
heading to Cooper Landing.
On the way to Cooper Landing we stopped at Moose Pass and sharpened our ax. The pictures tell the story.
Bob's got a lot of axes to grind!! |
While we were there we actually saw some salmon working their way up the small river. Their journey is long and rigorous. Only the strong will complete the journey. They have to traverse many miles upstream. We hope they do not take a wrong turn.
Today was an orientation day to Cooper Landing. We stopped by the tourist info center and got some info on things to see while we are here. We are planning to take a 3-hour sightseeing rafting trip on the Kenai River. We went down to the river on an expedition trip to see the river. It is an aqua blue color and looks inviting. There were several fishermen bringing in the salmon.
The
weather has been perfect for the last few days and we hope that it will
continue. We will be on the Kenai
Peninsula for the next 14 days so there will be many fish tales we will share
with you. We are planning to go
Halibut fishing when we arrive in Homer.
There should be some great pictures coming. We have taken so many wonderful shots that it is hard to select which one to use when we are writing the blog. Hope you are enjoying the blog. We are having fun writing each day. This will give a great chronicle of our adventure throughout Canada and Alaska.
Along with our pot roast in the crockpot tonight, we had rhubarb crisp for supper. Hummmm It was so good! Rhubarb is one of those “northern” things that Sharon really loves! Thank you Don and Joy for making it!!
May your days be filled with pleasant thoughts, sunshine and moderate temperatures.
